Out of all major brands, I'd think SanDisk is the one with most counterfeited cards being sold. So - buy from a reliable source, and buy a major brand. That's a fair point. Even if genuine SanDisks were 100% reliable, counterfeit cards tend to be shit, so unless you can verify you have a genuine card, be careful.
A warning specifically about SanDisk 4TB Extreme Pro SSDs: Multiple DITs/Loaders/ACs on both coasts have experienced the exact same failure with these drives over the last month.The symptom seems to be that after a sustained write they will completely lose their filesystem and it's a total crap shoot wether you can recover it or not.

SanDisk, at least in the U.S., is the highest priced manufacturer of SD cards. That premium may be worth it in the case of the Extreme, if you want the absolute best performance, but not at all for the Ultra. For example, the 1TB Ultra is only like $10 cheaper than a 1TB Lexar Play.

So A1 and A2 are great cards for smartphones, console and steamdeck. But most A2 will be tied to UHS-III/V90 so in most cases A1 will do just fine. Especially since steamdeck is limited to UHS-I support. Personally i would go with 512GB since the transfer speed is higher @ 30MB/S instead of 10MB/S for the 1TB card.
